Vote for ME!!!

Across the country mailboxes are being filled with politicians’ campaign ads. They don’t look cheap. Full color glossy card stock to try to convince voters how to choose. Most say ‘Vote For Me’, while some say ‘DON’T Vote for my Opponent’. It would be interesting to know how much is spent on these ads – especially at the local level.  Does a city councilman earn enough to justify the campaign cost? Or is it an investment for the future and a run for a more prestigious position?

Do you suppose that any of these  flyers will cause a person to change their vote? Hmm, his smile looks genuine and honest.  Her eyes look thoughtful and focused. I don’t like bald heads, bright red lipstick, the clothes they wear. How many people take time to actually learn something about the candidates?

I’m thankful for recycling so all those trees won’t have died in vain.

BUT WAIT!!!   THERE’S MORE!!!

This is just the beginning. In November we’ll be flooded with Thanksgiving and Christmas advertising. There seem to be very few retailers who don’t send a catalog or at least a flyer of some sort. More paper to toss. Although there will be plenty of post-Christmas sales ads, it will be a relief to see January arrive.
